Independent verification of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for Deir Al Ahmar Natural Reserve, Lebanon has been successfully completed for the reporting year 2024 by GLOBAL QUALITY CERTIFICATION.

This Verification and Validation Engagement Report was prepared by Global Quality Certification Egypt (GQCL) for the Deir Al Ahmar Natural Reserve, Lebanon, covering the calendar year 2024.
The objective of this engagement was to assess the reserve’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals, ensuring compliance with ISO 14064-1:2018 requirements and international best practices.

Scope and Boundaries
● Geographic Boundary: Five forest plots in Deir Al Ahmar totaling 700,000 m².
● Institutional Boundary: All activities directly managed by the reserve authority.
● Report Boundary: Calendar year 2024, including operational activities and on-site renewable energy.
● Emission Sources:
o Scope 1: Direct emissions from vehicle patrols (0.18 tons CO₂).
o Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased electricity – effectively zero, as all electricity is generated from on-site solar panels.
o Scope 3: Visitor transport, procurement, and waste management acknowledged but not quantified due to data gaps.
